The Austin-Area Rare Bird Alert is a service of the Travis Audubon Society. This update is as of 9.00am, August 23rd, 2007:

--- RARITIES FOUND THIS PAST WEEK ---

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD (Stellula calliope) was at a private residence
near Utley August 18th and August 19th.

A GLOSSY IBIS (Plegadis falcinellus) was in the Granger area on August
18th. It was in the wet area just west of the County Road 358 and FM
971 intersection.

--- CONTINUING BIRDS FROM PREVIOUS WEEKS ---

No reports of continuing birds from previous weeks.

--- RARE SIGHTINGS FROM PREVIOUS WEEKS ---

A WILSON'S SNIPE (Gallinago delicata) was at Granger Lake on August 15th.

Another WILSON'S SNIPE (Gallinago delicata) was at Hornsby Bend August
9th thru August 11th.

An AMERICAN REDSTART (Setophaga ruticilla) was present at the
Schaezler's Warbler Woods property near Cibolo from August 4th thru
August 7th.

Five FORSTER'S TERNS (Sterna forsteri) visited Hornsby Bend on August 4th.
